This is what the work actually looks like: you show up to a house where something stopped working, you find out why, you photograph what you found, you quote the fix in writing, you do the work, and you leave a documented record of what the door looked like when you left. No upsells. No “while we’re in here.” No invoice the homeowner didn’t see coming. That’s not our pitch – that’s our operating standard, and it’s been that way since 2015. If you want to do good work and have the paperwork to prove it, keep reading.
Who We’re Looking For
- Garage Door Repair Technician – Someone who reads a spring by eye, knows what a worn cable drum sounds like, and doesn’t reach for a replacement part before they’ve confirmed the diagnosis.
- Garage Door Installer – Someone who measures twice, checks the headroom before ordering, and treats a new door installation like the finished work will be photographed – because it will be.
- Opener Repair and Installation Technician – Someone comfortable across LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman, and the rest, who knows the difference between a dead logic board and a bad safety sensor before they touch the job.
- Apprentice / Entry-Level Technician – Someone with good hands, a willingness to ask questions, and the patience to learn a trade properly rather than learn it fast.
- Dispatcher / Service Coordinator – Someone who can hold a live call from a frustrated homeowner, get the right information on the first pass, and relay it to the tech without losing anything in translation.
- Customer Service Representative – Someone who understands that a homeowner calling about a door that won’t open at 7am is not looking for sympathy – they’re looking for a time and a name, clearly stated.
What We Offer

A Real Path, Not a Title
Apprentices at Servo ride along until they understand why every diagnostic step happens in the order it does. Then they work as a second on jobs. Then they lead jobs, with a tech on the other end of the phone when they need one. The goal is a technician who can explain to the homeowner exactly what failed and why – because that’s what the job actually requires under the Haven Standard, specifically under Clause 4, which says the customer sees the failed part before anyone quotes a replacement.
Work You Can Stand Behind
Every job closes with a documented photo record of what was found and what was done. That record goes to the customer. It also means when you fix something, there’s evidence it was fixed right – not just your word. Most trades don’t operate this way. We do, because it’s the founding rule Servo was built on, and because the technicians who stay here are the kind of people who prefer it that way.
Local Crew, National Backing
Servo runs as an independently owned and operated business under The Haven Standard. Your crew is local – the license, the trucks, and the neighbors are all yours. What Haven contributes is the documentation system, the buying relationship with suppliers across all eight major brands, and the operating standard that makes the local business worth trusting. You’re not a number in a national call center. You’re a named technician with an on-the-way text and a job sheet that actually reflects what you found.
Steady, Year-Round Demand
Garage doors break in every season, in every market, at every price point. Springs fail after a predictable number of cycles. Openers age out. New homeowners discover the previous owner deferred every maintenance call they should have made. There is no slow quarter in this trade, and a company that answers the phone at 2am with a live person – not a recording – tends to be the one that gets the call.
Before
AfterNo Experience? Read This.
If you’ve done HVAC, plumbing, electrical, auto mechanics, or any trade where you had to diagnose before you fixed, you already think the right way for this work. The specific skills – spring sizing, cable replacement, opener programming, track alignment – we teach those. What’s harder to teach is the discipline to photograph the problem before you quote the fix, to write the scope before you start, and to leave a door in better shape than the homeowner expected. That discipline is either in you or it isn’t. If it is, the first months here look like this: riding along, asking questions, doing the documentation, and gradually taking more of the job. There’s no shortcut through the early stage. There’s also no ceiling once you’re past it.
